ASIL-D certification requires there be no unused code in the vehicle. However, code often comes from multiple software sources and can include legacy car software, open source and third party bundles – complexities that create obstacles for developers to track every piece of code. In addition, generic software is often developed to support different versions and configurations and may leave unused code that is not relevant to particular set up. Aurora Labs’ Software Intelligence maps all vehicle functions and understands behaviors at the line of code resolution to identify and flag all unused code.
