Annual Awards Program Recognizes Innovation in Automotive and Transportation Technologies Around the Globe

TEL AVIV, Israel, October 13, 2022 – Aurora Labs, founded in 2016 by Zohar Fox (CEO) and Ori Lederman (COO), today announced it has been selected as winner of the “Best Use of AI in AutoTech” award in the third annual AutoTech Breakthrough Awards program conducted by AutoTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global automotive and transportation technology markets today. In 2021, Aurora Labs was recognized as “Overall AutoTech Solution of the Year” by AutoTech Breakthrough.

Aurora Labs brings AI-based Vehicle Software Intelligence to the entire lifecycle of a vehicle from software development to testing, integration, quality control, continuous certification and on-the-road over-the-air software updates. Vehicle Software Intelligence provides a new data layer for automotive manufacturers’ decision-makers bringing them insights that are not easily seen and not easily or successfully tested with current solutions.

Aurora Labs’ solution is three-pronged – Auto Detect, Auto Validate and Auto Update – allowing it to be used by developers during the software creation process as well as other groups throughout the lifecycle of the car – through QA, integration, over-the-air updating and continued certification required through UNECE WP.29 – a new regulation covering cybersecurity and over-the-air updates.

With vehicles and embedded systems being very complex, having the ability to gain insights into changes in software and how different lines-of-code interact makes the software itself safer and enables automotive car manufacturers to more efficiently manage software costs and the resources required to develop and manage new vehicle features and mobility services.

Also, AI-based Vehicle Software Intelligence’s understanding of software changes and behavior enables a positive user experience for remote software maintenance by offering new vehicle features and functions through the deployment of unobtrusive over-the-air software updates.

Aurora Labs’ solutions can integrate into any electronic control unit (ECU) and any computer system in the vehicle, and are not limited just to the high-end systems. Aurora Labs can also work on the very small embedded systems that have as little as two megabytes of flash memory. This results in a new class of use cases.

“It’s always a great honor to be recognized by AutoTech Breakthrough. Our approach is unique based on how our solution integrates early into the auto manufacturer’ s software development cycle. Because our approach was built looking at the challenges of the automotive world, we focus on the embedded systems that are key to the development of the software-defined vehicle,” said Zohar Fox, CEO, Aurora Labs. “This opens so many opportunities for us. For example, we are working on managing infotainment and ADAS – even managing steering systems, car seat heating, and electric window ECUs. ADAS and infotainment systems use big, powerful computer systems with lots of resources. On the other hand, we also have the ability to work with these smaller ECUs that are a great challenge for other competitors.”

The mission of the annual AutoTech Breakthrough Awards program is to conduct the industry’s most comprehensive analysis and evaluation of automotive and transportation technology categories, including Connected Car, Electric Vehicles, Engine Tech, Automotive CyberSecurity, Sensor Technology, Traffic Tech and many more. This year’s program attracted more than 1,500 nominations from over 15 different countries throughout the world.

“With so much software in the car, without understanding how that software is working, how software from one vendor interacts with another, and how software changes over time – this whole auto transition to software is becoming a life or death matter. Car companies have always put safety first. Using AI to understand the interaction between lines-of-code is becoming more important as more lines of code from more sources enter the car,” said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director of AutoTech Breakthrough Awards. “Aurora Labs’ solutions will save automotive companies time and money – and will ultimately save lives as vehicles become more autonomous. Congratulations on being our pick for ‘Best Use of AI in AutoTech.'”
